What is rotator cuff syndrome?
The rotator cuff is the name for the band of four muscles around your shoulder. Together these muscles provide the stability and mobility of the shoulder joint. When this area becomes irritated or damaged and causes symptoms, we call it rotator cuff syndrome.
Cause of the syndrome in Geldermalsen
The syndrome often develops from long-term irritation, something as everyday as sitting at a desk with poor posture. A sudden injury, like a fall, can be the trigger just as easily.
The symptoms are:
- Pain in the upper arm
- Loss of strength
- Pain when you lie on your shoulder
Sufficient rest is important for rotator cuff syndrome to settle. An examination with our experienced chiropractors is advisable to determine the right approach. Not sure whether chiropractic is right for you? Read what to expect at your first visit or explore all of our treatments.
